My latest struggle has been to sort out my business and get it verified on a legal scale. I’ve applied for both an LLC and an EIN, which went through quickly. I used a business called Delaware Inc. aka Harvard Business Services (no affiliation with the law school).
But before I picked that one, I went through all the correct channels in order to be sure. Double sure. I pored through various services online that offered assistance with setting up an LLC. Then, I cross-checked them. Looked at review sites. At their Facebook and Google reviews. Finally, Delaware Inc. won!
Copy Fox Pro, LLC
My LLC was formed on July 27th, 2018. They even filed for my EIN for me, which is something I just figured I may as well outsource. I’ve had friends tell me they set up their LLC themselves, which I totally get! Reading DIY articles is just not my jam, though. I don’t trust myself with tricky legal processes such as this. And honestly, I’m not sure why I didn’t do this sooner. I had built it up in my head as this big, scary, expensive thing and figured it was easier operating as a freelancer. And who knows? Perhaps it is! But I want this venture to be legit and legal. I don’t want to be just another girl online offering various digital services as a hobby. This is not my hobby; it’s a business!
Facebook Verified
Today, I got the email.
“Thanks for contacting us. We’ve approved your request, and your Page is now verified. Your Page now has a verified badge and shows up higher in search results to help attract more visitors.
Keep in mind that your Page may be reviewed at any time to make sure it meets our verification guidelines.”
My Facebook business page is verified! I have a tiny, nearly invisible grey check mark next to my business name on Facebook. Can you tell the difference between the two prior images? That check mark is so small and seems insignificant (my partner couldn’t understand why I couldn’t stop squealing as I read the email), but it’s just one more piece inserted into the puzzle I am continuously trying to put together. The puzzle that is this crazy small business venture I have begun on my own.
